Sora is perplexed—shouldn't Riku be back to normal with Vexen gone? Maybe it's not that simple…?

Axel strangely makes it sound as though Vexen should be happy that both his "memories and existence will be put to an end here." On the contrary, Vexen pleads with him, but to his horror—and Sora's pity—Axel kills Vexen to keep him from spilling all the beans about Naminé.

Sora and his friends reach F11, wondering what these "memories from the other side" have in store for them. Wary of Vexen's intentions, they decide to go onward.

Sora returns from that peaceful locale only to be met by another black-clothed adversary. Vexen claims Sora owes him a "debt" for allowing him to reunite w/ his "former friend." From his prior run-ins with these guys, Sora can only angrily jump to accuse him for Riku's behavior.

After his fabulous entrance, Marluxia dubs the Replica a failure, & coerces Vexen into dispatching Sora himself or else be eliminated (this being a secret plan by Marluxia to test Sora's strength). Vexen leaves, fully intent on preserving himself. But, if Sora is eliminated...?
