2020 vs 2021
Last year I was so scared of drawing BGs because I didn't know where to start - and then I saw all of these pretty artists who could do BGs so well and I really really really wanted to try! So I began to watch tutorials! https://t.co/VaPY5Q7bRS

This ought to be fun. (If the PNG gets messed up by Twitter, let me know so I can DM it to you since Twitter likes to mess up transparent BGs)

Hello! I do digital pet portraits for $50-$75 USD, with simple color bgs. Thanks for letting me share with you <3

you can thank Oscar Dufau, who was the artistic genius behind the production design of these specials. he could go back and forth from these photo-realistic xeroxed layouts to the crisp and stylized lineless BGs of The White Seal or Mowgli's Brothers

Simple lines with simple marker coloring isn't half-bad for BGs

studies!!
also- personally i started by adding vague approximations of BGs to the portraits i usually drew which helped me get a feel for environment without actually committing hours to rendering a bg
(random RL example + old art to demonstrate dfhhdf)
