Yes, since we percept and associate the color with something we know, we have seen before. While in grayscale our senses work differently. It started with discoloring this particular painting and ended in a whole series.

Experimenting: I turned on grayscale, got colors from a random color palette generator, sorted it from “darkest” to “lightest,” drew and colored this, and turned the filter off. Idk how I feel about the end results, but I am definitely trying this again. It was fun!
