not a fan of the player character designs for scarlet/violet at all, and i think a big part of it is the artstyle. they don't look like pokémon protagonists. they look like they could be characters from literally any generic rpg. the way sugimori drew humans back in the day-

Fuecoco and Quaxly have more going for them. Fuecoco looks very different to anything we’ve ever seen, and while Quaxly looks a bit generic, the pose and “hat” add more flare to it. I adore their personalities.

Trivia: This is the first exported draft. Vastly different BG, generic name writing, OC design changes, etc.

Also, it's typical for me to export 2 or 3 versions of the same drawings bc of me noticing some mistakes after exporting. For this one I have a whopping 5 versions saved.

@Paul0tron The incentive is right, but the mech choice is... regrettable. Tiny arms, weak pelvic connector, limited waist mobility all that for a generic anthropoid design.

Either go all in on impractical swag, or just amplify the human form where it matters.
