It was an honest joy getting to spend several months drawing these last 3 issues. I would've gladly spent much more time there, but did a fantastic job bringing this book full circle.

the parallels in 'varmints' runs deep in obsidian. pb + marceline have talks about each others unresolved issues. what triggers this is personal loss from one character. in varmints, it's pb's hat + in obsidian, marceline's prized axe bass.

Part 1 Dio had more of a superiority complex and ego problem than DIO in my opinion, in P3 he calmed down and actually started rethinking his issues.
I also prefer him being something else than yellow for the sake of saving it for DIO, even if that was his main pallete pre anime
