I've used the scene from Heaven's Feel 3 of when Rider dropkicks Saber Alt as my reference, which btw was badass!

it's because of the perspective, I draw my references in the perspective used for Starline's reference, not fully front view like in Kit's reference

you can see it clearer here, they take the height from the heel, not from the whole shoe (Kit's shoe is in Sonic's perspective)
