With mha I always go by if the anime matches the VIZ or the fan scans more. And almost always it matches the fan scans. Heck, sometimes Viz cuts lines from the scene, like gentle saying he would save the man from the falling beam. Dekus line to eri feels so stiff and almost rude.

ehh i'm not good at posing either, but to make more dynamic poses, i tend to make a curve representing the spine, not obliged to follow it completely tho
also i tend not to make the hips and the shoulder axis parallel, or it can make the pose feel too stiff

Sonic renders from the 2010s have the same problem that Mario renders had in the 2000s.

Both lack any stylization with stiff posing, and flat lighting.
These renders feel soulless.
