I really like how this turned out. I tried limiting my use of airbrush and added textures. I'm not even sure WHY I decided this to be the right time to add textures when the roblox avatars are mostly plastic.

Dear everyone, please stop using a black airbrush multiply layer to shade your pictures.

Use a hard blue brush (for normal everyday lighting, sometimes green or purple!) and pick brighter colors. Also add a solid white highlight layer at 50% for some shine.

My most recent art, I feel so proud of myself for making these. I think a more flat shading style works better for me, it ends up looking better in my opinion, plus it's way easier to do, and takes much less time than doing a whole airbrushing procedure

value studies. so far the process that seems to work really well is:
-sketch
-airbrush dark values, clean sketch then merge
-airbrush lights, value check using color mode on the full image.
-colorize, then finalize.

(wip of commission work, but im really liking it)

And now, we add a Glow layer. I've decided that these guy's heads all have a glow on the edge of their masky bits. Honestly I just come in with an airbrush and my watercolor brush I use for a lot of my work in my drawings.

After this, I add edge lighting from that glow.
