Left was from like, 2011? Right was from yesterday!

More than half of what I used to draw was fighting game related. I loved Soul Calibur so much. I didn't even have my own original characters until 2013.

Golly gosh, going through my ancient folders sure was a wild ride. I wanted to pick something thematically similar so I landed with a (painful) 2005 vs 2019 comparison.

2010, was 11 and I had a tablet that didn’t have any pen pressure but came with Manga Studio 4 which let me fake it and i didn’t know what shading was.

2019, WHAT I LEARNED IN ART SCHOOL IS. also i upgrade to a wacom, but i still have lots to learn!

Last one for since digital painting is still quite new to me and I haven't had as much time to practice as I'd like.

I'm already spotting mistakes and things to fix, but here's a skelly-boy from 2019 vs. 2011, apparently my first attempt to render line-less art

2012 (my first ever tablet piece and oc!) vs 2019! seven years passes by fast, huh?

I struggled with digital work and color in particular for many many many years. It's been hard work to get this far, but worth every second. Keep putting that time in, everyone, don't give up.

Or how about a strip-style comic from 2018 vs. one of my first strip-styled comics from 2007 ... and featuring yet more vampires. Colours in 2007 were courtesy of my sister, as were some of the characters I borrowed.

The hair-dyed monstrosity was mine.

My is a little weird among my peers in Imaginative Realism, in that I started with "realism" and had to learn "imaginary"

old stuff was very flat colored with wonky anatomy, now it’s multi-toned with less wonky anatomy!

In the vein of 'edgy' OCs, here's an angsty rock vampire from 2019 vs. an undead zombie goth from mid-2007. Unfortunately I lost my earlier pieces in a harddrive death, and now the only archive of my first foray into digital art exists in my Improvement Meme
