I wanted to start sketching my characters about a little bit ago so I started on Lola, but I got caught on the background. Ill update it when I have the background done but I do want to draw more different characters soon.

Oops on the previous post, but eh, here's an actual good contrast one, for some reason transparent just becomes a black background. Either way, pretty happy with this.

Obviously, it's nice to see more details in the background. But blurring does help keep the focus on the part of the game that actually matters to the player, I guess. And hide less detailed assets. Left is Xbox trailer. Right is Edge magazine.

Man, I played a ton of International Karate Ultimate, but have no recollection of that background. 🤔 Looks like more play-testing is required. 😁

Trying to get a feel on the background. This is basically a painting exercise at this point since my steps are so out of order and messy, before I come back and refine them.

Yukari drawing that made me realize something as I made the angsty background.

I need to make my art feel more like a cross between pretty renaissance painting and panty and stocking gang art scribbled into a notebook I'm sharpie. Expect to see that change soon
