Imo it’s either 1 or 2 things: that the story may be a bit basic, unlike Steven universes premise and stakes, along with a unique sort of “magic” like being gem stones, weapons, etc, and most importantly imo, the art style, it’s way too simple vs SU gorgeous style

If you're confused on his arm btw, on the original reference Sub made it so the bone is coming out of the elbow but since i'm a dumbass I made it wrong but I made it so the arm is unnaturally out of it's socket and wraps around his whole body (It's a lot creepier imo)

shoutouts to this one custom sonic model which takes the frontiers model and tweaks it so he has some adventure-era aspects while maintaining current boost-era looks
