[Headcanon] The appearance of Salmonids change when they migrate. Their snout and teeth grow out, their eyes become yellow and bulging, and their markings become redder and more vibrant.
A note about their head fin: its color is sometimes enhanced through dyes according to rank.

dragon transformation chronicle, part 2 - months 3-6

Increased soreness of the jaw and face, the neck, and the lower back. Didn't know it then, but it was the beginnings of the dragon snout, neck, and haunches respectively. Discoloration of facial and body hair continues.
