The chapter was pretty good at characterising Kay, and Horace
, But the cave was very weirdly detailed, and ended up looking like a bunch of scribbles on the wall, hopefully this improves. The silhouette of the black creatures were just alright.

People have told me Hesse Sonic's design is more simple because it's designed to be more expressive than detailed, but uh...

Yuji Uekawa design is both more expressive AND more detailed, so Hesse Sonic's overly flat coloration just makes it lesser to me

Her design (by Mel Kishida) is brilliant, detailed, her color palette is aesthetically pleasing and it has many references to the past arland alchemists like her hairband's hearts colors, that represent previous arland alchemists: Pink (Rorona), blue (Totori) and yellow (Meruru).
