Shadow the Hedgehog in IDW Sonic is a guy who cares for others, but he has difficulty showcasing it underneath his pride and anger. It's not blatantly told to us which I feel works, and it's starting to win me over.

Earlier this year a comic artist told me he had difficulty drawing in a cartoony art style. Growing up, most of my art teachers stated that cartoony artwork was the easiest thing for any artist to do, so the idea that someone would have difficulty with it completely baffled me.
