This was a depiction from one afflicted with severe depression with the intention of ending it all. And it was attempted multiple times.

After much thought, and by using this as the inspiration towards the importance of mental health,

Marmalade Mind came to life.

You can learn a lot from studying artists you like- I saw the star guardian Lucian that @/AudreyTakada did and knew I had to learn from it- so here is a study piece where I attempted to replicate their facial structure while implementing my own style elements

friend made a group drawpile. tried it out. attempted to draw my wol with mouse only. despaired. 10/10 though, would attempt again.

Also i definitely did not attempted to make them look like they are high asf. Not at all.

And finally I attempted to copy the style of @veramundis. This style gets a lot of mileage out of a well defined silhouette and shading used to define anatomical features and the general 3D shape. It was a lot more challenging than it first appeared to me.

The first artist who's style I attempted to copy was @ovopack. It's a much more simplified style than what I'm used to. I particularly like about it how it uses large shapes and how they relate to each other. Definitely something I'd like to make more use of in the future too.
