・日本海軍の睦月型駆逐艦5番艦。艦名の由来は旧暦の5月。
・1923年度計画艦。1924年12月に藤永田造船所で起工。1925年11月15日に睦月型駆逐艦では最も早く竣工し「第二十七号駆逐艦」という名で佐世保鎮守府に配属。1928年8月1日に「皐月」に改名される。
