I just heard that comics industry giant Neal Adams just passed away. ‘Legend’ hardly seems to cover the man’s talents and achievements.

So many of the keystone comics in my life were his.

My favorite were his Tarzan paperback covers.

This frankly sucks.

died. This one is tough. Neal was a tremendous influence and why I love comics. First comic I bought was BATMAN he made me want to be an artist. Ironically, 13 years ago today, my book THE BATCAVE COMPANION was released. I interviewed Neal at his studio for it.

Neal Adams defined the 70's and beyond for many DC characters, helping to ground them in an era that saw a return to more melodramatic and tragic storytelling in contrast to the constant camp of the 60's.
