Here is Colobonema sericeum (or the silky medusa) doing a little jelly dance in space! As Earthly as jellies are, their buoyancy and delicate bodies make me think of them in the vacuum of space.

Just finished this piece using gouache, which shows the very common lawn mushroom, the green spore parasol. They’ve been popping in la due to the hot weather + sprinklers. I find them gorgeous in their own right!
