So for the jay I went back to SAI, exported every single color layer as its own .png (glad I kept every color on its own layer in the first place! thanks past me!), path->trace bitmapped each one individually in inkscape, then assembled them. Definitely cleaner results.

Finally used photoshop's painting capabilities. While I do personally prefer Paint tool SAI, it was an interesting experience!

Clip Studio Paint review: setup is very similar to photoshop & paint tool Sai, if you are familiar with those it will be pretty easy to pick up. Lots of tool customization, beautiful layer merging options, amazing asset features & more.
overall 10/10 very sexy!

Exercice de Noir et blanc pour passer en couleur ensuite, a droite la ref, au milieu et en dessous le premier essai, et a gauche une version stylisée ou j'ai pu appliquer des conseils ( genre la courbe de dégradé!)
