I don’t care what anyone says, I really like this illustration. The specific colour grading is absolutely immaculate, the atmosphere is showcased in such an effective way and the contrast between Emilia and Rem (who both look fantastic here) and their environs works well.

It's extra weird because they explicitly remembered for Alexstrasza's new model, and gave her the non-glowing draconic eyes. So they clearly *knew* that these things changed, but I guess they just.

I say it's more that saturated colors create more contrast, therefore, it becomes more eye catching.

For my case it was because the OP was too desaturated for phones.
