Burnishing involves layering and blending until no paper tooth shows through the coloured pencil layers. In my drawings below I used a light pencil (light brown for bear/White for model) to go over the other layers & blend out the pigments.

Vomparing the differene between Artist X and Alex Ahad you can tell there's some glaring differences almost immediately. The biggest one to point out for me is color blending. The left (Ahad) has this neat color blending trick for shading. The left uses hard lights.
