Similarly, when I teach basic character sketching to kids in my local classes, I like to point out the "Triangles-squares-circles" thing going on with The Crystal Gems.

They always realize I am drawing Pearl once I draw what is basically an egg on a stick with two triangles.

tips on Isometric

I start with the base. Ground squares are rhombuses. Ground circles are ellipses. I then extrude that up, to make a column. Check out that barrel and rocks and dragon

Vertical circles are a bit harder, but there's a trick:

I also kind of figured that if threes are sacred, instead of squares they would probably use triangles as their embroidery base. It's been cool to see all these details come from just a silly accent I started doing!

If there's a main protagonist I hated the most it would be Squall. Not sure why Squaresoft then wanted the hero to be so edgy to the point of being a total jerk most of the time to the point that I wished I could play as anybody else on it.
