Back to Fishing boats in Belle-Isle-en-Mer, 1910 #postimpressionism #maufra
Another literal voyage into #ClassicalMusic with the turbulent, breathtaking cantata "Moby Dick" by an icon of American music, Bernard Herrmann, that matches the larger-than-life nature of the tale.

Mako was captured by pirates at young age, they cut off his fins and kept in on board as an attack dog, taking advantage of his blood rage (he never learned to control it) to attack boats they were boarding. The vikings that took him in cut off his raggy hair and cleaned him up.

DAY 9: HANDLOR THE OCEAN KING. Handlor is the king of the ocean kingdom known as "Fingler Fi." He is often considered a tall tale among sailors and pirates for being the end of many boats by turning into a giant slamming fist of demise! Some say that his tail fins taste weird.
Mhmm Buttered popcorn! They are fighting depression doing the things they love the most, the night sky and boats. Be sure to keep an eye out!
#inktober Day 6
I’ve been painting! Watercolour and gouache, the boats really pulled it together!
It’s Keyhaven Bay, near Hurst Castle, Lymington!

#Inktober2019 Day 3 - Prompt: Bait
Decided to throw in some Greek mythology and draw a siren! They would bait sailors into steering their boats into the cliffs by singing beautiful songs :)
This was a demo from my #Melbourne #workshop. Block in with primary shapes then moving to detailed top layer. “The Boatshed”, 50X60cm. #australianartist

Argonauta or paper nautilus shells (egg sacs secreted by cephalopod females) were known as fairy boats in the Isle of Man. They were said to race across Lough Gur on moonlit nights.
Amelia Jane Murray’s ‘A Fairy Resting on a Shell’ (1800–1896) depicts such a scene. 🐚✨
