Something I'd really like to improve upon is pushing pokemon facial features to make them more distinct. Here's some practice I did with these charizards

Ron Lawson is probably Scotland's most popular contemporary landscape artist. His work is very distinctive and I love the beauty that he brings to what are essentially very stark scenes. Often isolated cottages; I liked the inclusion of blackface sheep here.
So atmospheric.

I'll go first! Crys has a very distinct scar across her lip that appears like it wasn't healed properly; Her character is a Melee combatant and she actually has many scars, but this one mars her face in a way that detracts from a more demure appearance, and at first glance, (1/2)

That one made her more distinct, but I was actually talking about this look. You see it right, the resemblance? It's mostly the hair shape with the bangs framing her face like that. Once again, it isn't important, but I instantly thought about it when I saw her.

the point is the color choosing. like this, i'll take an example, a sprite of this girl
(this is her hair pallete) the reason why her hair has very distinctive shadows because the artist use light base color and a bit strong shadow

They wear a space suit with goggles & some casual clothes above it, and of course, the very distinct motocross helmet.

Vest seems to be mostly for protection, but I dunno. Could hold some tools.
