This is the last design I made for AQUA Ramadan, completing the rest two. Unlike the other designs that look symmetrical, I tried to create this one in a flowy diagonal grid to show a humble feelings described in the scene, of course with warm tones of color✨

Composition Principles:

1. Rule of Thirds - I put the boat as the main focus of this artwork so I put it in one of the intersections of the grid

I got some amazing feedback from some amazing people so I had to make changes! This version includes a tonne more verticality to the streets as well as introducing more rewarding player paths etc. Also reworked the last section to break up the grid :)

Diego Galindo did FCBD2018 and Drakkon's rewritten world in the Shattered Grid finale and I really hope to see more of his work in future books!! His style invokes something like a vintage newsprint book and it's so unique, esp when combined with marcelo costa's coloring!!

pretty much all my textures are 64x64, so the UV grid is set up in maya to be 1:1. each grid = 1 pixel

and i just snap to it (:
after a while it got easier to kind of do the textures first and model to it, if that makes sense
