@MoriArts116 I always think in big and simple shape. You can always add detail later by giving it a soft shade, blur some part of the hard shade, adding another color, etc
Learning about shape and light source is fundamental for shading!
FINAL STEP
You may wonder that the colour looks off after adding the highlights, well you can easily fix this by colouring on the lineart! Just used the shadow colours (but darker) and then voila! You're done :D
STEP 8
Adding shadows: Let's just say cool colours are commonly the best option to use for shadows. These hard shadows only works when it is behind hard parts (the hair, head to neck, ears etc) and largely depends on which lighting you use.
STEP 5 & 5.5 (lmao)
Same as step 4, add more base shading with different colours into the same layer. Let me tell you a secret, legends say adding blue shadows make your art pop more, so try doing that as well👀
Art tip: The neck will always be darker because of shadows!

Adding on, 2012 Slash is either an Alligator Snapping Turtle or an Asian Spiny Turtle! However, I think Alligator Snapping Turtle is more fitting, though Asian Spiny Turtle resembles Spike!

also worth noting, street fighter duel doesn't have the rights to characters past SFIV, so they just started adding random greek/chinese gods to the game for no reason, that have nothing to do with street fighter. whole thing is a mess.
