Awake at 4:30 am hagged by anxiety and unable to get back to sleep, I watched the 1982 doc THE ATOMIC CAFE for the first time since college. Took strange comfort in those halcyon images of mushroom clouds, disintegrating model homes, and Brylcreamed heads ducking and covering.
