1729年の今日、交趾国(ベトナム)からの献上品として清の商人により初めて日本に渡来した象が、中御門天皇の御前で披露されました。

その後江戸に運ばれ、5月27日に将軍徳川吉宗の御覧に供されました。

京都から東京まで象を１ヶ月かけて移動させた…ってこと？😱
