Average day for the Emperor during the 30s. IJA and IJN hated each other to the point they'd build their own carriers and airplanes. (I had to use a picture of KC Akitsu Maru since there are no IJA ladies in AL) https://t.co/aqaYrncLnM

I got an ask on tumblr how an older Akira Fudo would look in his late 20s, early 30s.
And now I have a design for my Devilman AU that fits perfectly into the demon war arc.

The diary of Matthias Chrysostom Günther XXIII G 1 contains records from a trip to France and Italy, when he probably accompanied his charges Jaroslav of Házmburk and Jan Vilém of Házmburk in the 1630s. Some entries are complemented by painted coats of arms of writers.

Fun story! I was told as a teenager that I was a waste of art supplies. I gave up entirely on art and didn't pick it up again until I was into my 30s. I'm still learning but I'm also loving it, so put that in your pipe and smoke it, teachers!

For I wanted to highlight some of my favorite monsters: The Fearsome Critters! They're cryptids that were recorded by American lumberjacks during the 1930s. I made a collage of some of my favorites. I also added Mothman since, to me, he fits alongside them.

Personality-wise he was inspired by Dick Powell, musical actor of the 1930s. Go and watch some of his musical numbers like "Only Have Eyes for You" and "Dames".

Visually he was inspired by Don Karnage from TaleSpin.

Drypoint etching on paper by Louis Icart, mostly done in 1900s to 30s. Really interesting poses and silhouettes, and the animal presence on his paintings and drawings is always full of personality, specially the dogs.

Mr. JB goes back to 1930. The New York Central Railroad's Dreyfuss Hudson was designed in the late '30s.

Also, the rail line he lives a block from was a Wabash Railroad line, not a New York Central (although a CCC&StL line ran through town too, and they were a subsidiary of NYC)

Frances Tipton Hunter’s (1896-1957) began her career as an artist in New York City illustrating fashion for department-store children’s clothing lines.
Her early work captured depictions of children and pets, popular subjects of the 1920s and ’30s.
