Woman with two children in a carrying basket, Gesina ter Borch, 1651- a little slice of 17th century life from the Rijksmuseum. I love the way the little girl holds on to her apron. Gesina was herself only 18 years old when she made this image.
Self portrait: by the wonderful Gesina ter Borch, 1661 (Rijksmuseum)
2/2 Gesina ter Borch's beloved brother Moses perished at the battle of Harwich in 1667. She painted this memorial picture of him: death rowing in to take him away. Also jumping out from behind a tree. Alas!
3/3 Sharing his snack with a younger boy: good kid! Drawn by Gesina ter Borch, who was born on this day in 1633.
Two washerwomen tamping laundry in a tub. Fascinating picture by Gesina ter Borch, who was born on this day in 1633. @womensart1 @NoteArtHerstory

There's something quite lovely about the #nuntastic nun painted here by Gesina Ter Borch in 1657 (Rijksmuseum)
I made this doodle of Estelle based on this sculpture I found by Isabelle de Borchgrave. It was really pretty and I really like this sculptors work. I'm probably gonna add more details later.
