Asked my students (1st to 4th year) what was #InternationalWomensDay and they said it was a day to offer flowers to women and girls.
Then we had a discussion about #WomensRights and I hope something stuck, they are very small but maybe some of them will remember this when older.
I’m saying that because it feels like all the “that’s not shojo manga!” / “that’s not appropriate for all-ages readers” discussions is about helping overseas manga readers find books that they’ll love, & the shojo/shonen/josei/seinen labels are in flux now & aren’t always helpful

Though I still remember there was a lot of confusion if she was White or not. LOTS of discussion about it.
