I tend to just paint over mistakes and design revisions as I go so I don't really use any, i'll duplicate layers and paint changes on that layer so i've always got a backup incase i scrap the whole lot

then I select a color at a time > duplicate it > select the flat color and do a couple shading passes using multiply for shadows, add for highlights, and screen for bounce light. I just copy the flat color and work with that for all layers, regardless of how good or bad it looks

🧵/6 ... I created a Spreadsheet with all the traits named and listed under different categories. I then created 2 formulas:

1) To randomise traits for 777

2) To highlight any duplication so they were all unique

I’m curious but do any of you guys do this?? I might be the only person who does it but the reason I do it is because I tend to get paranoid with making changes which is like 99% of the time so I make duplicates of each layer in case i make an irreversible mistake

might not hurt to get one of each staked! and make sure to give each duck a relic!

(I think the relics may be based on school of thought, so theoretically you'd want one of each school of thought duck (5) and 5 relics no duplicates.

Finally, I merged all the layers into a single one and duplicate it. I added details using texture brushes growing the sense of danger and cold. As illustrators telling a story with the image we portray is the goal. Hope this was helpfull, if you have any questions coment below!
