Just back from a wonderful morning sketching hawfinches c.15 often in hornbeam copses, but quite widespread, including some blue billed singing males. Love sketching this species

Finches are full of character & an array of colour. Their bills have adapted to the type of food they eat, from long fine beaks that can extract seeds to chunky powerful seed crushing beaks. You may see some visiting your feeder:
