#332 Dobrynya Nikitich
Based loosely off a historical figure, the real Dobrynya was the uncle of Vladimir the Great. There is not much known about him, but he seems to have been violent and controversial.
In game, Dobrynya takes heavily from the folklore inspired from him.
@M0NSTERJUICE_ I have this story idea about mythical/childhood folklore creatures but its a dectective story with them and my take on the Tickle Monster gets so much fetish shit on them.
I've literally had actual fetishist get passed at me for not making them fit their "sexual needs"

I know I'm very late, but here is my fanart of Peach for the new Mario Bros movie <3.
Btw, Peach's dress is inspired by Mexican folkloric dresses.

In Japanese lore, Old Man of the Moon came to Earth as a beggar and asked the animals for food. All gave except for Rabbit, who told him to build a fire, and jumped in. Quickly the Old Man of the Moon pulled Rabbit from the fire and took him to live on the moon.
How the Jade Rabbit joined Chang'e on the Moon in Chinese lore varies by the telling. In some tales, he was hidden in the sleeve of her robe, in others he leapt to the moon. Yet in others he had always been there. #FolkloreSunday
Side note, by Elf, I mean the classic tiny playful creatures from folklore, rather than Santa Elves or Medieval Fantasy Elves. Though they're also all 妖精(Yousei) in Japanese, since they're also all Elves in English .

Folklore links the hare to the moon, death, rebirth & Easter. Eostre, Celtic goddess of spring, is said to be the namesake of the Christian holiday. For her, hares are sacred messengers, and at the full moon she assumes the shape of one.

The constellation Lepus was named for the Latin word for hare. It's located below the constellation Orion, which was named for the hunter in Greek mythology. Orion has been depicted pursuing Lepus with his hunting dogs, Canis Major & Canis Minor. #FolkloreSunday

Leprechaun is a folklore character from Irish mythology. The leprechaun also considers other treasures as a guard, which, according to legend, he hides in the depths of the earth and plots from people.

#318 Anastasia & Viy
Anastasia was a dedicated prankster & was very active to the point that one of her nicknames was “little mischief”.
Her companion Viy is supposedly from folklore, but likely it was an invention by Nikolai Gogol, the author of the novella of the same name.
After John Bauer and Gustaf Tenggren, Einar Norelius took the ”Bland tomtar och troll” folklore illustration torch and carried it for more than half a gnomish and trollish century.
