Leider klingt die Beschreibung meistens nach kitschige Romamce, dabei ist das ne Serie über Politik. Mit einem weiblichen Shonen-Protagonisten. In einem fiktiven Land, das an die Tang(?)-Dynastie angelehnt ist.

Here’s a 1630 canvas attributed to Francisco de Herrera the elder. Not great - but not ridiculous. But back to Böcklin. It’s interesting that, before the turn of the 20th Century, he had a towering reputation. He was part of modern art’s avant-garde. Then: he was kitsch.
