I like to try and be critical of my character design / species accuracy to help myself improve, and Tobi is far from an accurate representation of an Australian Cattle dog but I’ll be dammed if I don’t love his fat muzzle and big ol nose 💙
Another OC Kaiju practice/color work. Made the muzzle more beak-like. Maybe TOO beak like. Will probably dial that back a bit. I'm liking the crests, but should be further back behind his head. Otherwise, pretty happy with how it's coming out. Might give the crests more color.
@felidaze_ surprised 3 is in such a minority i just think some white on the muzzle makes him pop + gives him more similarity to leafpool and princess
although plain orange like 1 is maybe my second bet just based on the original cover + ss warrior cats

Some texturing work today, model provided by my school not mine. Had a little fun with the help of @Rimeon_Ink which has been providing ideas on how to wear the weapon such as the burn on the muzzle.
:3 This is the progress I was able to make this weekend on the Smilodon, the muzzle is definitely one of the more complicated areas especially since I wanted to do a snarl. I'll likely soften up some areas as I go.

@CoralReefee I feel the muzzle curve kind of help with drawing Sonic. Breaking it up kind of fucks with it. Though of course, certain expressions don't need it. My problem is when the default for Sonic is without the curve, and it just makes the design more awkward with a muzzle dominance.

theres just a bit id change, Try making the quills a bit shorter, from this angle the quils wouldnt appear as long, nor would they overlap too much.
