With cool parallax scrolling & an excellent Ben Daglish soundtrack, Way of the Tiger makes a very good 1st impression. The 3 types of combat are a bit samey, but it’s a solid addition to the beat ‘em up genre.

Hewson 1987

Nebulus was absolutely stunning when first encountered in '87. The revolving tower, ace graphics, cool inter-level parallax scrolling shooter sections, its originality & superb design. Wow. An outstanding 80s platform game.

I decided to create a procedural shader for the eyes after all. Parallax effects turn out to be really good for this style, and I can even make the eyes appear to be inside of the head geo for side views. I still have to adjust colors, but the technique seems to work!
