Stylistically, a big inspiration for characters sprites is mid-90s LucasArts, "realistic cartoon" as seen in Full Throttle and the cancelled Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix.

I'm using realistic proportions but keeping the high contrast shading. Works for me!

First off, COTD is a collection of unique characters spanning across many genres. The artstyle i would describe as "Surreal Cartoon" with alot of fantasy and sci-fi mixed in.

This Surreal Cartoon aesthetic was made by COTD themselves who made gen 1, and i picked it up into gen 2
