i dont have a process but i feel like you should design/take in an OC with something about them that you're into so you have an attachment to your characters

if you like your own chars i think others will too

I feel like ive shared these but whatev lol. In the 07 movie prequel comic we had a different Bumblebee design that we had to change partway into colors. [I was also told to do less of the chars actual colors and lean into gunmetals to match the protoform look in the movie]
