"Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

He said to His disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" ~ Mark 4:39

I watched a doc on Netflix recently about a famous art heist in Boston in the 90s. Rembrandt’s “Storm on the Sea of Galilee” was one of the works stolen.

I really love this piece, especially because he painted himself onto the boat (Pic 2, 2nd from the left)!

12 other pieces were also stolen, including Rembrandt’s “The Sea of Galilee” (1633). (2/4)

"Storm on the Sea of Galilee" is Rembrandt's only known seascape.
It was stolen in 1990 from the Gardner Museum in Boston with a number of other paintings, and has never been recovered.

What an incredible painting...

Did you know that painted Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee when he was just 27 years old? This narrative work is the artist’s sole seascape painting. If you look very closely at the passengers on the ship, you’ll even see Rembrandt’s own face among the men.
