I think this might just be a case of the Pokémon looking worse in 3D than in 2D. It' a pretty common issue for many Pokémon designs. I agree that Bruxish's pallette is good, but I don't see the problem with Grafaiai's. It's gonna have some garish colors; it's poisonous
