It is supposed to be “cute and calm” but it just looks boring. I didn’t push the values hard enough.
Calm means: no fish jumping, no wife pointing, no dynamic posing, just vapid expressionless landscapes. I probably used too many colors and brush strokes.

her actual model isn't rigged and doesn't look 100% like this - did this render by just messing with the polys for posing, material colours and using the ol' extrude/invert trick to get the cel-shaded lines on her face. hoping to rig her soon!

@dailymorrigan Sprites and other in-game graphics aside, it's gotta be this one. The crosshatching, the stylized anatomy, the cool blue and purple hues, the three-dimensionality and expression of the face, the posing, it's all top-notch.
