Compare early Henry's Cat to later (cel) series. Very different texture.
That's just a thought, it could well be cels in later Roobarb. It's a shame Godfrey never bothered to preserve any of the artwork. Once it was shot, he apparently wasn't bothered what happened to the art.

Because you are waiting, I think! Or at least your head is, waiting for it to catch up to itself? This is proobably not very solid advice but I think it really is just a "keep chipping" sort of thing, like making art for the sake of it existing and giving your head some wait time
