カワウソはその毛皮目的にかつて乱獲が行われました。現在では毛皮目的と並行してペット目的の密猟が行われています、子供を捕るため両親は殺され、密輸の際に多くのカワウソが死亡します、恥ずべきことに日本も密輸先のひとつです。
