Born in the Roman province of Aquitaine, he is known chiefly through his writings. He was a strong collaborator of St. Augustine. It was primarily St. Prosper who crushed the Pelagian heresy when it was raising its head in the see of Peter.

Apparently there's an old debate about whether a trillion lions could win a fight against the sun. A lion eating the sun is a recurring image in alchemical writings. If one lion can do that, surely so can a trillion.
