It's worth adding that Jade has said that she doesn't necessarily likes being Cheshire, but that, considering she was sold to slavery as a child and then manipulated by Wen Cheng into becoming a cold mercenary, the only thing she knew was being an asssassin.

In spite of this some writers managed to restore some of Jade’s personality throughout the years, her love for her daughter; her morals and her dimension, writing her as a tridimensional person instead of a trope (dragon lady). This happened in The Titans and Titans.
When first introduced, Jade was quite layered and the key aspect of the character was the duality between Jade, loving and pensive, and Cheshire, a blunt mercenary, but who wasn’t completely amoral. Cheshire was shown to took revenge on contractors who hired her for vile jobs.

Jade is now officially my favorite character out of the main three. I have never felt more comfortable experimenting with a character and out of the trio she has consistently been my favorite to draw. I'll still draw my other characters but expect to see her more!
