Junior excitedly reported a visitor in his room. Splendid specimen (and right in time for #SketchbookSunday.“ 😉).
Unfortunately misinterpreted our efforts to release it ... and felt the need to sacrifice a leg (3y/o bit unhappy about that outcome). 😬

// note: Gilda is talking about the transportation schedule of specimens into the lab rooms
// no update next week, I'm away. I could have scheduled it but since they're all standalone pages I figured they fit well together.
I even took the time to do these aswell! More of this will most likely come until I get my school laptop back haha. #immortalspecimen
@AlexSelbyB nightmare fuel:
The sole specimen of Pelagornis sandersi has a wingspan estimated between 6.1 and 7.4 m (20 and 24 ft), giving it the largest wingspan of any flying bird yet discovered
Old illustrations are awesome. That puma has seen some stuff! These are from "A Handbook to the Carnivora" (1896). In the past, scientific illustrations were often based on descriptions or dead specimens... given the source, it's remarkable that some were actually pretty good!
In this first time ever clash, The Rebel collides with mythical specimen Unibro. Due to being angered by Unibro's comment on Rebel's smaller stature compared to him, Rebel spitefully locks Unibro in a full nelson. Looks like someone else in pretty angered

Huge congratulations to @gsciencelady & colleagues on this very exciting new publication! Elsa discovered this important fossil in 2017 while part of the NatSci family and the specimen now rest safely within our collection. #StEiggosaurus #FossilFriday https://t.co/b6Yb1HdYmy
Thought I would add to the #AnimalArtistsUnite !
I have done biological illustrations for a PhD student at my local university in a lab with a team of taxonomists, microscope equipment and real specimen samples~! The I.rufoniger was SMOL... needed a bigger microscope!
as we see here, a fine specimen doing his signature >:3c look.
Whenever I can, I sneak down to @zoonewengland, the @NEAQ, and @HarvardMuseum to draw from life or taxidermied specimens. I love studying this way. So relaxing. I miss it. #sciart #scicomm #AnimalArtistsUnite (bit of photoshop love after with the map)

See this? Proof of an angel. And goodness, is Yuki quite the specimen. She's been so kind and loving to me and I am thankful for it each and every day.
She fills my heart with warmth and joy; a marvelous friend. I love her! ❤️
#smaugust2020 Day 18: Science
Little is known about Dragonoids in the genus Kirinus. This specimen is the first of the species Mardigradica to be observed under a scientific lens. In laymen's terms, it is called the Violet Kirin.
#OTD in 1838, the U. S. Exploring Expedition set sail in the Pacific. Voyage documented species of the area - many specimens found their way to @smithsonian . More about its scientific legacy: https://t.co/qC4XF1MyJS
