I don't know if this is controversial or not, but I miss self contained cartoon. I do enjoy the more story driven shows on nowadays like Steven Universe, Voltron, and Ducktales, but I miss cartoons that didn't really need to have much of a narrative throughout the entire series.

All & all, a movie universe is often self-contained. Adaptations that do well expand that universe/adhere to certain zframeworks. Direct adaptations are not always popular. Imagine a comics series. One that adapts all the novels ignoring/embracing films.

Christopher Nolan’s carries w/ it “finality.” It was self contained. Not fluid enuf to continue that story. Perhaps it was written that way to avoid even the possibility of a fourth & fifth sequel. Adapting a comic based on these characters would be difficult, unwarranted
