a lot of the ugliness of my initial sketches comes down to my aphantasia. i need colours and shapes more than i need clean lines. it's actually better for me if the initial sketch is *wrong* because then the rest of the drawing is problem solving

Just a small behind the scenes to my process:
There are two sketch phases before I lineart. The first is my initial sketch (not pictured), the second is my final sketch (1st pic), then I proceed to lineart (2nd pic), then flats, then shading/rendering (3rd pic) 🐤✨
Here's somethin' for you guys while I work on more art... Designs I've done for the semester! ;D
This was for a project in uni of my initials; I'm proud of how they turned out since I made 'em when I first got the hang of Adobe CC! Expect more cool stuff soon!

Here is the first rendering of the image. I spent maybe an hour on it. A lot of inpainting. What I like less is that the more I do inpainting, the more I lose the initial style of the image. 😅
