EVERYONE wants Altered Beast to be good, and it's not.

But Sonic wasn't good for DECADES and indie developers turned that property into Sonic Mania, and it was really good!

One of the worst failures on OOMPH is the Genny version of Altered Beast. When you get right down to it, it's a muscular dude punching brittle undead things. It should feel very violent, but it just feels like hitting nothing. AND IT DOES THINGS RIGHT, like rearing back to punch.
